Excited to finally purchase my very own Liturgy of the Hours prayer book and guide thanks to our parish pastor's generous invitation for bulk buying for a cheaper price. I picked up my prize the other day and dove into it wholeheartily....to my dismay it is as it was years ago when I wondered how folks can pray this complicated prayer.....confusing.

I have struggled with this for a long time and so have not bought any book for it. I was at the Pauline Book Store and asked one of the sisters (Daughters of St. Paul) if she could explain it to me. She tried and then gave up, not because I was so thick but because she couldn't explain it understandably enough. How does one learn it? I have tried websites and asked others and no one seems to be able to teach it. If you figure it out, would you please consider posting a reference or explanation on your blog? Thank you.

The best way to learn is have someone who prays it regularly go over it with you. I have some knowledge, but no way could explain it without sitting down with the book and person together.
