It so happens that the current book I am reading will be my next book review for The Catholic Company, "Dark Night of the Soul" by St. John of the Cross. The requested sentence and consecutive 2 or 3 are as follows:
There is, therefore, a great difference between dryness and lukewarmness, for the latter consists in great remissness and weakness of will and spirit, in the want of all solicitude about serving God. The true purgative aridity is accompanied in general by a painful anxiety, because the soul thinks that it is not serving God. Though this be occasionally increased by melancholy or other infirmity - so it sometimes happens yet it is not for that reason without its purgative effects on the desires, because the soul is deprived of all sweetness, and its sole anxieties are referred to God. I'm going to be a rule-breaker and post my sentences as a comment. From the field manual "Combatives: Hand-to-Hand Combat", on pg. 56, we read the following:
c. Prisoner Escort. The escort secures the prisoner's arm with the wrist bent sraight back upon itself, palm toward the elbow. The prisoner's elbow can be secured in the crook of the escort's elbow, firmly against the escort's body for the most control (Figure 3-17). This technique is most effective with two escorts, each holding a wrist of the prisoner. Use this technique to secure the opponent only if rope, flex cuffs, or handcuffs are unavailable.

WOW Great book to choose from Ebeth:) and a good explanation of the difference from the 'dark night' and depression. Many people get muddled up with them, there IS a difference.
