A conversation at the Pillar's house yesterday

Fiddler daughter after being captivated by watching the ALL videos on the computer:

What is Planned Parenthood all about?

Me: Well, they teach that ending a pregnancy, no matter what reason, is the solution.

Fiddler: It says that the birth control pill kills babies, too. It's another form of abortion.

Me: Yeah, that's why the Church teaches that sex before marriage is wrong, that it only takes one time to make a baby and aborting a baby is murder. It is not any more the answer to problems than divorce. God created man and woman to become a family. If you look around and see what holds society together, it's the family. Homosexual couples, people who co-habitate (playing marriage), single parents don't hold up society, they weigh it down, water down the moral atmosphere.

Fiddler: What happens to the mother? Does abortion hurt?

Me: Well, if the procedure doesn't hurt, the memory of it does, for the rest of a person's life, I have even read where the fathers are deeply affected by the fact that their baby(ies) were killed. This is something that a woman may at the beginning feel that they have solved a problem, but later on in life realize what they did and feel deep remorse for the rest of their life.

Lately, it seems as my children are growing up and one is out and the other two watching the world around them, that it's an uphill battle.

Thanks +JMJ+ it is only through JMJ that we can get through this mess and have out children still in one piece!

Hugs!

It is so sad that we have to explain to our children that some people and organizations in our country think abortion is ok. Even a child can understand that killing a baby is wrong, I wish the adults would get it through their head. This conversation will be coming up soon in our home, thank you for sharing how you dealt with it.

Yes, it is tragic that society doesn't value life, no matter the stage. I have four wonderful children, and my oldest daughter, who is in high school, learned of other girls who experimented with sex, and then decided to limit any interaction she had with them based on their behavior.
I also must comment that as a single parent, my family attends Mass weekly, prays daily and also attends religious education classes at our parish.
Motherhood is the most wonderful job, but it also requires a lot of dedication, to be done properly.
It isn't easy being a single mother. There are, of course, many single parents who shouldn't have children, just as there are couples who shouldn't raise children.
I am a Catholic journalist and have written numerous articles on families and their ups and downs.

It's tragic that our society doesn't value human life at every stage.I am the mother of four wonderful children. I was quite proud of my oldest child, who told other girls that she was going to remain a virgin until she married.
Moreover, I also happen to be a single parent. We attend weekly Mass as a family, pray daily, watch EWTN and also perform community service.
It is not easy to be a single parent. Motherhood is the most wonderful profession, but it requires a lot of hard work and discipline to be done properly. I know that I work daily to instill the proper values into my children.
Of course, there are many single parents who shouldn't have children but there are also couples who should not be raising children.
As a journalist, I have reported on numerous families in times of crisis and joy and have seen the highs and lows people bring to the table.
