A Word about Children...our babies

What a gift to the world! Children, with their little toothy smiles and giggles from their own silliness. Having three of my own (and one in Heaven before I got to meet him/her), I have had the pleasure of laughing, smiling, tickling, and just plain hugging small ones for the past 25 years.

It was about 25 years ago that the young Adam Walsh was abducted and murdered in a senseless heinous crime which tore into a family like an atomic bomb, I can just imagine. This was at the same time I had my first child, looking into his eyes, I realized that he could be in danger of such a criminal monster and I had to do something about it. I got in touch with other mothers in the area that were interested in fighting child abductions and abuse. They were very interested in starting up a public awareness organization to promote safety and awareness of child abuse, both sexual and physical. These other ladies and I attended seminars, workshops, lectures, and visited detectives and child psychologist to learn all we could about this disease in our society. I remember giving a talk to several Women's Garden clubs and other groups requesting information about Child abuse. Finally, we ladies decided to incorporate our endeavors so as to have a bank account and receive donations for travel, brochures, and other promotional materials. We called our organization, "Hands Off, Inc." Well, I remember the brick walls we ran into as well as the open arms of charity and concern. It was all well worth the effort in my book, but it took a lot of our time and the other women slowly pooped out and I was the only one standing.....with a small child at home and a husband that didn't understand much less get involved, I had to give up too.

Anyway, to cut to the chase here, I read an article the other day about British officials breaking up a global child sex abuse ring, rescuing more than 35 children and finding out about many others that need to be found. A description of the evidence found of videos, pictures revealing horrible acts being committed to children as small as a few months old! These are monsters of the Devil and this is one of the most debilitating evils in our society that is seeping into all the crevices of our lives...pornography. It is a poison that effects all of us, but the children have no armour to protect themselves, that is where we adults must step in and stop this anywhere we know it is happening, teens, young adults, husbands, boyfriends, wives, employees, anyone from any class of society is part of the heinous habit.

Protect our children and the family from this, pray for the protection of St. Michael, and pray that it isn't in your neighborhood, much less your own home. If it is, it must be stopped....immediately!
