We live in a society where everything evolves around sex. Commercials have sexual themes, songs, movies, television programs, cartoons, magazines; just sit and watch TV for 30 minutes and start counting how much sex is shoved in your face, seriously! Drugs are made that can enhance or make folks perform better to satisfy their partner....yes, partner. No where is a spouse mentioned. But of course you need these drugs so that if you are too old, physically stressed or whatever the reason that you can't function sexually for your partner, you need to take a drug. You need to be sexually functional, because that is what we are all about, sex, right?
Now lets talk about our dating practices, given that we have sex thrown at us at every direction, our children are given very little to go by even if we talk with them about good morals and ethics, right? They have peers and their peers' parents giving in to the modern cultural practices of dating. Fifteen year old or younger teens are single dating, riding in cars, with the approval of their parents! Evidently, what they don't know won't kill them, all they see is their sweet little boy or girl falling in love for the first time and starting to find romance interesting. All normal phases, indeed, but let to their own devices, dangerous.
Dangerous? Just look around at what is happening in our communities, our society, our state, nation, and world? Can't you see the damage? How many babies have single or no parents? How many broken-hearted people are there, how many relationships does one person invest their all to only to be disappointed, hurt, and left for the next encounter?
An encounter, a sexual encounter is the all important deciding factor on whether the couple proceeds with a relationship .... or not. But the sexual encounter must be encountered first, THEN the relationship.
Wrong order! You don't open the milk in the grocery store and take a swig....then buy it!! Yes, there are many things that you can take home and "test drive", but these are inanimate objects...they don't have a heart!! They don't have feelings, emotions, a SOUL for Heaven's sake!
When I was growing up, my parents told me not to kiss boys, not to be alone with them and get in trouble....meaning getting "Knocked up" My parents made it very clear how dating would go with me and why. They knew what was best for me. I, in turn, am doing the same for my children. Teaching them that kissing leads to trouble and at 14 or younger and up into their young adult lives, they need to set boundaries of respect and righteousness in the eyes of God.
Start early with your children, be determined to teach them that kissing, and being alone can be very dangerous to their character, heart, and soul. Teach your children to have respect for themselves and to look to the future, not just the moment.
It's not easy, we are fighting an uphill battle of morality and respect, but we must keep the faith.

I can only imagine how hard it must be for Christian parents today who are trying to get their kids to live by biblical sexual morality rather than society's LACK of sexual morality! They certainly have their work cut out for them.
God bless you and your husband as you work to train up your daughters to be chaste in the midst of all the promiscuity we're surrounded by. Frankly, these days young people are made to feel that something is wrong with them if they don't fool around. Sad...
