There are few words that can describe how important my knight has been in my life these past 16 years. But what I can say is that of the many years I have lived on this planet, no one has changed me, encouraged me, and confirmed me as much as he has.
From:
Children, homes, careers, and pets
Schools, sports, music lessons. and choir
Fixing booboos, consoling hurts, and being referees
Home repair jobs, putting up the pool, building the swingset
Scrubbing toilets, washing cars, and sewing on buttons
Keeping the old car running, dishwasher, and surrendering the old dryer
Packing the 5 for a picnic, a camping trip, or vacation
moving, changing jobs, careers, and universities
being unemployed, changing roles, and back again
Shopping for groceries, a new outfit, or shoes for growing children
replacing the broken window, garage door opener, and disposal
Weeding the yard, planting flowers, and finding a turtle
Watching the nightly news, the weather, or a re-run
shooting home movies, watching home movies and laughing our heads off
listening to music, playing music, or making music
Starting an argument, being in an argument, and taking a breath
slinging mud, rehashing mud, and making new mud
making up, forgiving, and being forgiven
Going into labor, going into delivery, and birthing
greeting the new one, kissing the new one, and each other
taking a new baby home, making a home, and creating a family
My knight and I keep going and with him at my side,
the good, the bad, and the ugly isn't so hard to bear.
He is my best friend for many years to come.....I pray!
Dear Lord,
Thank you so very much for my dear husband I am ever so grateful for the gift of him. Help me to be a good wife, partner and helpmate for him. I am so thankful for our children you have gifted us with and know that only through you can we continue. Your will is our will. I pray that we have many, many more years together.
I ask this in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you forever and ever. AMEN
