Happy Delivery day to me!!!!

Today is a special day for me, 27 years ago, I gave birth to the most amazing gift possible: a son. I have talked about this before, but there is no other way of putting it, Marshall was already a person, I just delivered him on this day. At the cusp of the horrendous FOCA approval by the new (old) incoming administration for our country, I have to say something.

Twenty-seven years, nine months, and 2 days ago a decision was made in my heart...to become a responsible, dependable, and cheritable person for another person. During the time of preparation for the delivery day, I made more decisions, endured hardships of sickness, discomfort, sleepless nights, and anxiety all with a twinkle in my eye and growing emotion of motherly love. At the very moment that I knew deep down that I was carrying another life within, it was joyous. I remember being so excited and nervous that on the way home from the doctor's appointment I had a fender-bender. After explaining to the nice elderly lady whose car I bumped that I had just learned I was expecting my first child, she giggled and wished me well and we parted ways without incident or a report.

When, at any time, was that strapping young lad in the picture above, standing with his daddy, not "viable" as the "Freedom of Choice Act" wants to decide?

Again I quote the April 19, 2007 Bill: Freedom of Choice Act
Sec. (4)...Under Roe V Wade and Doe V Bolton, the right to privacy protects a woman's decision to choose to terminate her pregnancy prior to fetal viability, with the State permitted to ban abortion after fetal viability except when necessary to protect a woman's life or health.
...(7) The Roe v Wade decision also expanded the opportunities for women to participate equally in society. In 1992, in Planned Parenthood v Casey (505 U.S. 833), the Supreme Court observed that, '[t]he ability of women to participate equally in the economic and social life of the nation has been facilitated by their ability to control their reproductive lives.
3 Definitions.
In this Act:
...(3)Viability - The term 'viability' means that stage of pregnancy when, in the best medical judgement of the attending physician based on the particular medical facts of the case before the physician, there is a reasonable likelihood of the sustained survival of the fetus outside of the woman.

So, why to we have day-care centers? After school programs? Boys and Girls clubs? I have never felt so involved in society since becoming a mother. Working inside and outside the home with children, attending social gatherings as a mother. The smiles and compliments on my children and the greetings of support have always been a blessing to me. Not to knock single career women, as their lives can be fulfilling as well, but I do have to say, having children gives spice to life.

What a travesty to put such emphasis on whether to have children or not due to the possibility of parenthood being inconvenient to one's social life.

You know I have always believed that one's birthday should actually be a Mothers/Fathers day!

Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your son from sunny Australia.

Peace and Joy to you

How very disturbing. What an anti-life statement. And anti-woman. Every woman can control her "reproductive life." What are we dogs in heat at the mercy of every stray? That's ridiculous.
I would say, as you have, that the absence of children inhibits the ability of a woman to participate in the "social life of the nation." Much of the social life of the nation is about children.
Children are not burdens. They are blessings. How very twisted has the image of life become to so many people. We have to pray. Such an insult to God. Lord have mercy.

My Dear President Obama and all you in Office.

Neither Man nor woman can control their fertility. God is the one who decides when and if we will ever have children. Yes you may abort a child and think you have control. YOu have the power to kill, but you DO NOT HAVE THE POWER TO CREATE LIFE.

God is the Only creative force, married men and women share in His Creative power.

At the start of your presidency it would be well if you learnt this and let this principle guide you.
