The girls wanted to wear pink to Mass today.

They love the pink candle and that it represents Joy. So the three of us girls wore pink to Mass this morning. Rebecca looked absolutely lovely up in the choir area playing the violin.

Today is an especially joyful day for the 'Pillars' household as we celebrate our Sarah's 12th birthday! When I was pregnant with her it was quite a surprise as we weren't expecting another blessing so soon after her sister who was 22 months old at her birthday. I was feeling nervous about this third pregnancy, too. The doctors had discovered a rather large cyst on my right ovary and needed surgery, at the same day that we got this news, my knight lost his job and had the contents of his desk in the trunk of his car. Looking into the especially white face of my husband, (my knight-in-shining armor) we prayed digging up the courage to get through this, holding hands tightly together, our love and friendship strong. Luckily, the hospital had a great payment plan and I think we now have my surgery and Sarah finally paid off. Joy!

In the past many years of our marriage, the one thing that I wouldn't change is the "doing without" and gauging whether we can affort something now or wait for another paycheck which has been the mainstay of our lives.

Why, you ask?

Because no large house, fancy car, designer clothes could even come close to the love of a good husband and our children around the kitchen table. We are a family that works together, decides together, and shares together. We are so very thankful to our Heavenly Father for our many blessings!

Happy Birthday, Sarah.......you are both a beautiful little lady inside and out. You are a joy and joy is what you bring to us each and every day!

Joy Sunday......Joy!

Joy to you, Ebeth!
I had to comment when I saw that your daughter's birthday is today, the Sunday of Joy...my daughter Andrea's birthday is today too! :)
She is 25, and married her high school sweetheart, who also turns 25 this week.
Peace and Joy to you and yours, this Christmas Season and all through the New Year!
love, J.

A late birthday greeting to your daughter.

I totally agree that nothing comes close to a loving caring family sharing together around the kitchen table.
