Speaking of Mixed marriages.....

Our son and his fiancee are getting married in a few weeks, August 30th at noon. They have been dating for over 6 years and engaged for 2 years, so we are glad that the "other shoe" is about to complete it's journey. During this time, both have had all sorts of issues to deal with, but the biggest has been her brother serving in Iraq (presently doing his 3rd tour) as a helicopter pilot. Her brother is her only sibling and she wanted him present on her special day, so they waited, but couldn't get it together the short time he was back. Now they have decided to have a simple ceremony with just the immediate family, then next year have a big party/reception when her brother can join the celebration.

With all the co-habitation going on in our society, I am so very VERY proud of my son for respecting his fiancee AND himself enough to not spoil their good names by selfishly living together. They are waiting until after they make their vows to be a new family. Though she is not Catholic, she is respecting my son enough to follow the guidelines of the Church and they will be making their vows to each other in the Catholic Church with a priest in 3 weeks. Oh joy and happiness!!

Please dear readers, keep them in your prayers during this time of preparation. Thank you.

Congratulations. This must be an exciting time for you. I wish my family would understand the dangers of living together before marriage. You have very good reason to be proud of them.

Oh I am so happy for all of you. For them because they will never regret this decision. For you because you know that things have gone from your mouth to their heart and they are now making those wonderful choices. God bless you all. Micki

And I know how hard it can be to fit life around the military. God bless you.
