UPDATE: Kissing rings, fiddling, and sticking out a tongue

This morning, as my daughters and I returned to our pew after communion, my eldest daughter whispered in my ear, "I received on the tongue, mom." I don't know what my face looked like, too bad there wasn't a camera! I never thought my example would pay off so quickly!! I was ecstatic and hugged her so happily!!

Then she whispered, "But Sarah didn't." "Oh, well," I said to her, "We'll get her next week." Conversion takes time and it needs to come from the heart deep down. When that happens, it sticks!!

Praise be to God!! I love being a mom!

This also brings to mind that fact that all my life, I have been told that Catholics don't knock on doors and bother people to convert them, we live our lives by example.

Case in point.

I have just stared receiving on the tongue exclusively. I told my nine year old daughter I would like her to receive it that way and why. She told me she was scared she might drop it. I too am hoping she will follow my example.

I have never in my life received Communion on my hand, always on my tongue. Even when I was a Eucharistic Minister to the sick. Of course, I handled the Eucharist to give it to the sick, but I still received on my tongue. But, I stopped by to let you know that Mother Teresa said it made her sad to see so many people receiving Holy Communion on the hand. Some "FOOD" for thought...

God bless and hugs,
