Mathetes Award

Aussie Coffee Shop and The WhiteStone Name Seeker named the "The Pillars" one of the blogs that deserved the Mathetes Award. Cool!! Thanks, I haven't won any awards yet, oh wait, Divine Mercy awarded the Pillars with a beautiful votive candle award last month. I thank you both. My main mission with this blog is to spread Catholic teachings, thinking, and the loveliness of the Church to all who would visit here. I am not sure I am getting it done, but I am going to continue to plug forward.

The mathetes Award is not originally from a Catholic, however, as the Church teaches, there is truth in all Christian faiths and I truly believe that. Being a disciple for Christ is a taking road less traveled, not being liked by everyone, and taking chances to make a difference.

Mathetes is the Greek word for disciple, and the role of the disciple (per the Great Commission) it to make more disciples. So the rules for accepting the award are such:
Winners of this award must pick five other "disciples" to pass it on to, and provide links for
(1) the originator of the award (Dan King of management by God),
(2) the person (and in my case, the other person )that awarded it to you, and then
(3) name and sites of the five people that you believe are fulfilling the role of a disciple of Christ.

Well, here are the five bloggers that inspire me:

Nicholas from PhatCatholic, when I have a question/dilemma, he's there for me, besides the fact that he is awesome in apologetics and catechesis!!
Micki with her beautiful holy cards just give me peace, when I feel overwhelmed, as I do get a lot this year, I just go over and visit her for awhile and peace is mine again.
Ask Sister Mary Martha is simply a blast and she ministers to my Catholic funny bone, clop, clop, clop! Only the shoes of a sister can walk away and still make a statement!
Jennifer from Et Tue? A young mom with so much to share! There are times when I visit that....well, I just can't read it all!! But she is good and I respect that.
Steven from Book Review and more. Here is another fine example of a mission being fulfilled. When I need to see what's next to read, I just check him out. From his reallife experiences to the books that he reads, I am truly changed. What a gift.

Thanks again Aussie Coffee Shop......I don't know about anybody else, but just reading your name makes me smell coffee brewing with a deep aroma of java from Starbucks!

Thank you as well, WhiteStone Name Seeker!
