God's Divine Mercy in the dark of night

At 3 am, I am awakened and feel unsettled. Then within a few minutes I am reciting the Divine Mercy chaplet. I get nearly through it and am already feeling better, calm and settled. All the while reciting these beautiful words I feel powerful, being a contributor, doing something for our world, the people around me, my family. I envision the angels battling evil in our world and securing the borders between earth and hell once again.

Each year on Good Friday, I begin the novena with so many others of the Catholic faith. Receiving communion during this time is not a problem, we attend weekly, and many times daily Mass, confession is another thing, however, I manage to get to Church for this within the 8 days of the novena. Each year my novena is devoted to issues from the world events and an issue in my own world.

It was a Divine Mercy chapel at a nearby parish that brought me back to the Church so many years ago after a short journey away, and the Divine Mercy novena said by a caring friend and myself that brought my life so many beautiful gifts: a wonderful Knight-in-shining-armor husband, and three wonderful children. It is the Divine Mercy novena that my mother taught me as a young lady, lonely and broke that helped me to be the person I am today, strong, happily married, mother and wife. And best of all, a devout Roman Catholic!
